Wonderous Stories:
and it's perfect as it is
Wonderous Stories is reaching this year a new phase meant to complete what turned out to be a trilogy developed and organised by Small House Productions. The previous two projects took place in 2012 and 2013 and brought together young artists from various backgrounds and various countries across Europe to live and work together in Ommen for two weeks each year and present in front of an audience their work in progress. Although with a strong artistic feature, the main focus of the project was and remains on the personal stories people have to share.
This year we’ve reached the third and last edition. Wonderous Stories: and it’s perfect as it is is a two weeks residency that brought together to Ommen 40 young artists from various backgrounds (dance, visual art, music, poetry, performance art etc) and countries. We always work with a theme and endeavour ourselves to bring a new perspective upon it through artistic means. In 2012 it was xenophobia, 2013 was about isolation and 2015 is about EVOLUTION.
The young artists worked on different topics related to the theme of evolution, went through intense processes and combined their effort for an interdisciplinary performance preview in Ommen on 28 July and a final performance in Amsterdam on 31 July.
The performance preview in Ommen will take place on Tuesday, 28th July, at 21.00, in the Bostheater / Recreatiecentrum Besthmenerberg.
The entrance is free.
The performance in Amsterdam will take place on Friday, 31 July, at 20.00 at Badhuistheater. The entrance is donation based (suggested donation €5).
